What is Shrimp Scampi Linguine?
Shrimp scampi linguine is a classic Italian-American dish featuring shrimp cooked in a rich, buttery, garlic-based sauce, typically with lemon juice, white wine (optional), and fresh herbs. This sauce is then tossed with linguine (a type of long pasta similar to spaghetti but flatter) to create a flavorful, satisfying meal. Here’s a breakdown of the key components:
Key Components of Shrimp Scampi Linguine:
1. Shrimp:
- The star of the dish! The shrimp is usually seasoned and sautรฉed in butter and olive oil until perfectly cooked. The shrimp absorbs all the delicious flavors from the garlic, butter, and any spices added.
2. Scampi Sauce:
- The “scampi” part refers to the sauce, which traditionally consists of:
- Butter and Olive Oil: The base of the sauce, giving it richness and smoothness.
- Garlic: Essential to the bold, savory flavor.
- Lemon Juice and Zest: Adds brightness and a fresh, citrusy punch.
- White Wine (Optional): Sometimes used to add depth to the sauce.
- Red Pepper Flakes or Cayenne: For a bit of heat, although this is optional and can be adjusted based on preference.
3. Linguine:
- A flat, long pasta that works well with the light scampi sauce because it holds onto the flavors beautifully. Linguine’s delicate texture pairs perfectly with the tender shrimp and the buttery garlic sauce.
4. Finishing Touches:
- The dish is often topped with fresh parsley for a pop of color and freshness, along with grated Parmesan cheese for a savory, cheesy finish.
Serving:
This dish is served as a main course usually for lunch or dinner. It definitely is worth every bite! Finished off with more parmesan and parseley on top to add extra flavour with each bite!

A Shrimp Pasta That’s Perfect for Weeknight Dinners!
Do you ever crave a meal that feels fancy but is super easy to make? Well, this shrimp pasta recipe is perfect for those nights when you want something quick, delicious, and with a bit of a kick. Plus, itโs a great way to feel like youโre eating at a seafood restaurant without leaving your kitchen!
Step 1: Prep Your Shrimp Like a Pro
I love using frozen shrimp for this dish because itโs so convenient. I just thaw it overnight in the fridge, and since I buy it already deveined, thereโs very little work left to do. Once it’s thawed, your shrimp is ready for some seasoning love!

Step 2: Boil the Pasta โ The Classic Start
Now, get a big pot of water boiling. Once itโs bubbling away, throw in about 2 tablespoons of salt. This gives your pasta some serious flavor! I like to use linguine for this dish, but you can use whatever pasta makes your heart happy. Cook it according to the instructions on the package, which is usually around 10 minutes. Easy peasy!

Step 3: Seasoning the Shrimp for Some Spice
While the pasta is cooking, itโs time to give your shrimp a spicy, flavorful rub. Grab a bowl and add 1 tablespoon of olive oil, 2 pinches of salt, 1 teaspoon each of paprika, cayenne, garlic powder, and black pepper. For extra flavor, sprinkle in ยฝ teaspoon of Creole seasoning. Toss your shrimp in this mixture until theyโre coated with that beautiful, spicy blend. You can practically smell the deliciousness already!

Step 4: Prepping the Sauce Ingredients
Before things get too hectic, itโs a good idea to prep the sauce ingredients. Mince four cloves of garlic, zest a lemon (you’ll need about 2 teaspoons of zest), grate ยฝ cup of Parmesan cheese, and chop โ cup of fresh parsley. Lastly, cut a lemon in half, so youโre ready to squeeze in some fresh juice later. All this prep makes assembling the sauce a breeze.
Step 5: Cooking the Shrimp โ Quick and Easy
Now, itโs time to cook those shrimp! Heat up a pan on medium heat and cook the shrimp for about 2 minutes on each side. They cook quickly, so donโt walk away! Once theyโre nice and pink, remove them from the pan and set them aside. Don’t worry, weโll come back to them soon!

Step 6: Creating the Perfect Lemon Butter Sauce
In the same pan, turn down the heat and add 2 tablespoons each of olive oil and butter. Let them melt together, then toss in your minced garlic, chili flakes (1-2 tablespoons depending on how much heat you like), lemon juice, lemon zest, and grated Parmesan. Let everything simmer together for a couple of minutes, making sure the heat isnโt too high so the butter doesnโt burn. Your kitchen will start smelling amazing right about now!

Step 7: Time to Combine!
Once your pasta is ready, reserve about ยฝ cup of pasta water, then drain the rest. Add the drained pasta to your lemon butter sauce, along with the reserved pasta water, and toss in the fresh parsley. Now, return the shrimp to the pan, add a couple of tablespoons of cream, and mix it all together. And just like that, your shrimp pasta is ready to be enjoyed!
Now, go ahead and dig in! It’s time to savor the creamy, garlicky, lemony goodness with that perfectly spiced shrimp. This is one recipe you’ll definitely be making again and again.

NOW ITS TIME TO ENJOY!
