Next, heat a pan over medium heat and cook the seasoned chicken thighs for 10-12 minutes. Flip them halfway through to ensure even cooking and to get that beautiful golden-brown color on both sides. It’s crucial to cook the chicken until it reaches an internal temperature of 165ยฐF to ensure it’s safe to eat and wonderfully juicy. The sizzling sound and the aroma filling your kitchen will make it hard to wait, but patience is essential here.

While the chicken is cooking, itโ€™s time to prepare the star of the dish โ€“ the sauce. In a mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, hoisin sauce, rice wine vinegar, and ginger garlic paste. This combination creates a rich, savory base with a hint of tanginess. Pour this mixture into a saucepan and bring it to a gentle simmer. Once it starts bubbling, add in the bourbon, water, and brown sugar. The bourbon introduces a subtle smokiness, while the brown sugar provides a balancing sweetness. Allow the sauce to simmer for a few minutes until it thickens to a luscious, glossy consistency.

You will be left with delicious bourbon chicken just like the one from your favorite takeout spot and all it takes is 30 minutes!!
