Spaghetti & Meatballs (Classics done with ease)

Jump to Recipe

Spaghetti and Meatballs is the poster for Italian food, it is iconic and tastes amazing!. Today we are making it at home and all you need is 30 minutes.

I start by mixing all my meatball ingredients with ground beef and form meatballs. 1 lb (500g) of ground beef, usually makes 11-12 average sized meatballs.

Complete steps are listed in the recipe card below.

I then boil my pasta (spaghetti) for 10 -12 minutes until its al dente (that satisfying bite).

You can use any pasta shape you like, thats what I love about italian food, it can altered to your favorite flavor, texture, shape etc.

You can make your own sauce but I personaly like the ease and taste of this Classico sweet basil marinara. Feel free to use your favorite marinara. My second favorite is Raos. There are times when I make it myself and store it for late but for the ease and simplicity, I chose this!

Once the sauce is heated, I add my meatballs and let that simmer for 15 minutes and lastly add in my cooked spaghetti and parmesan and mix.

Ingredients

  • Spaghetti pasta (4 servings)

  • 1 full bottle Classico Sweet Basil Marinara (You can also use your favorite marinara)

  • 1/2 cup parmesan (optional)

  • Meatballs
  • 500 g ground beef

  • 3/4 cup italian breadcrumbs

  • 1 egg

  • 3/4 tsp salt

  • 1.5 tsp garlic powder

  • 1.5 tsp chilli powder

  • black pepper (to taste)

  • 1/4 cup water

  • 1/2 parmesan

Directions

  • Combine all the ingredients listed under meatballs into a bowl and form meatballs and place on parchment paper so they dont stick.
  • Heat a pan and cook your meatballs for 2-3 minutes per side on medium heat or until all the sides are browned.
  • While cooking your meatballs, boil your pasta (spaghetti) for 10-12 minutes or until al dente. Strain and set aside. I like to add a big pinch of salt in to the boiling water before adding in my pasta.
  • In a separate pan, empty the marinara sauce and add your favorite seasonings and adjust it to your liking. I used oregano, garlic powder, chilli powder and parmesan.
  • Add in your meatballs and let the sauce simmer on low heat for 15 minutes.
  • Add in your cooked spaghetti, parmesan and mix it up.
  • Now its time to ENJOY!
